How much does it cost?
It costs 10.17c (inc. VAT) to send an SMS from a fixed line to a mobile.
The eircom text messaging service or SMS (short message service) allows you send and receive text messages from your home phone.*
You can send and receive text messages (up to a maximum of 160 characters) between mobiles and text enabled home phones.
*Fixed line SMS is only available on fixed and mobile networks in the Republic of Ireland. To receive a fixed SMS you must have an SMS enabled phone or have an eircom mailbox, where the SMS will be delivered to you mailbox via text to speech.
How to get started
To start text messaging from your home phone you will need a text-enabled phone such as the eircom D55 If you already have an eircom text enabled phone you must first have eircom caller display activated on your line. There is no charge for this service, order it now in our online store. Now send a text message to any number and eircom text messaging service will deliver your text.
